Jack Falahee plays Connor Walsh in the US TV drama called How to Get Away with Murder. Connor Walsh is openly gay and has a very open sex life. He is often referred to as a slut and often uses his sexuality as a way to get information for his boss. During one episode he is asked how many sexual partners he has had in the last year and he says anything between 30 and 40.

However, although he has an open sex life he still ends up falling in love with another man. He still uses the same techniques that heterosexual men use to talk to girls such as pickup lines and compliments. This doesn’t create a division between the homosexual characters and heterosexual characters. This means that the show doesn’t get its ideas from a heteronormative society. The program also ignores the dominant ideologies of homosexuals wearing bright clothing and ‘standing out’ as gay.

The show also shows us that homosexual people are just ordinary people who like the same sex, who have relationships and who fall in love. Connor Walsh also pretends to be heterosexual to get information out of women, as well as men. However, he asks women how to make up to his ex-boyfriend which suggests that homosexual men have the same characteristics as women. This support the dominant ideologies surrounding both women and homosexual men, presenting them as weak and easily used. Both homosexual protagonists are shown as caring and they both look after each other.
